Yod י The Power and Ability of God.

Yod י is the smallest letter of the Hebrew alep bet. It is the tenth letter with a numerical value of 10. It is the only letter not constructed from other letters. When the pen touches the paper to write a letter, a yod is formed and when the letter is complete and the pen raises up another yod י is completed. It is the first and last mark. It is also the most used letter of the alep bet. It is first found as the root of יהי yehi meaning let. Yod י allows everything to come into being. It represents the power and ability of God in all of creation and in all things. Yod י means hand and God's hand is well represented in yod י

Tet ט Choosing Good or Evil.

Tet ט the ninth letter of the Hebrew alep bet carries a numerical value of 9. It first appears as the root of a word in Genesis 1:4 in the word טוב tov meaning good. Tet ט illustrates the vav ו the flesh bowing before the zayin ז the Word of God. This is one view. The other is that in tet ט we see the serpent. Thus the paradox, we can choose to submit to God through His word and accept His protection and nourishment (zayin ז means sword and its primitive root זנ Zan means bread) or we can crawl on our bellies like the serpent and eat the dust of the ground; be worldly/carnal and feed on desires that fade to dust

Het ח A Wall or Discipleship?

Het ח is the eighth letter of the Hebrew aleph bet with a numerical value of 8. Het means wall and is first found in Torah in Genesis 3:8 in the word habeh חבה which means to be hidden. Het ח is a paradox. It is composed of a  zayin ז and a vav ו yoked together representative of human kinds ability to discipleship with God and not bear their burden alone. The paradox is to remain oblivious to God as in being hidden behind a wall or to be fed and protected by God growing in spiritual maturity along the way.

Zayin ז The Nourishing Sword.

Zayin ז is the seventh letter of the Hebrew alep bet with a numerical value of 7. It means sword but as it comes from the primitive root Zan זן meaning bread it also represents a source of nourishment. The first time it appears as the root of a word in Torah is at Genesis 1:11 in the word zera זרע meaning to bear, produce, or conceive. We see God in ז as God not only protects us and feeds us, He helps us to grow.

Vav ו Human kinds Attachment

Vav ו is the sixth letter of the Hebrew aleph bet with a numerical value if six. Oddly the first time it appears as the root of a word is in Exodus 26:32 in the word וו vav meaning hook; the silver hooks used to hang the veil. As human kind was created on the 6th day, vav ו also represents the flesh and carnal side of mankind.

Dalet ד The door.

Dalet  ד is the fourth letter of the Hebrew aleph bet and has a numerical value of 4. Dalet means door. It is first used as the root of a word in Genesis 1:4 in the word בדל which means divided. ד dalet is the primitive root of the word דלות dalut which means poverty or to be in poverty. It is a paradox that illustrates our state of poverty if we fail to open the door to God which is His Word.

Gimel ג The Great.

Gimel ג is the third letter of the Hebrew aleph bet. It's numerical value is 3. It means camel. The first time it is found in Torah as the root of a word is in Genesis 1:6 in the word גדול gadol; meaning great. As such ג gimel represents something great or wealthy. It represents stability and we see a picture of the flesh(humankind) in the ו vav leaning on the power and ability of God in the י yod. We will discuss these letters in more detail as we move foward.

Creating a House; The ב Beit.

The second letter in the Hebrew aleph bet is the ב beit which is first found as the root of a word in ברא bara; created. This letter means house, temple, tent, or tabernacle and has a numerical value of 2.

The א alep "The First".

The letter א is the first letter of the aleph bet; the Hebrew alphabet. It has a numerical value of 1 as well as 1000. It is silent. All Hebrew letters with the exception of the letter י yod, are composed of other letters. This composition alters the numerical value. In the case of א which is composed of two י each equaling 10 and a ו vav; numerical value of 6 for a total of 26, the same numerical value of יהוה the sacred name of God. The first time we see the א as the root if a word in the Bible is in the Torah at Genesis 1:1 in the word אלהים Elohim meaning God. א is thus a direct representation of God.

Michael A Trinkman

Well I guess this is where it begins. My name is Michael Trinkman and I
teach God's Word. I started this blog in order to make this teaching available to all. I have been teaching it to a small group of people but more and more folks are asking me about it, so rather than try to repeat stuff over and over, I'm going to do it this way. Tomorrow I will begin teaching the meanings of the Hebrew aleph bet which will open up the perception to God's Word.
