Yod י is the smallest letter of the Hebrew alep bet. It is the tenth letter with a numerical value of 10. It is the only letter not constructed from other letters. When the pen touches the paper to write a letter, a yod is formed and when the letter is complete and the pen raises up another yod י is completed. It is the first and last mark. It is also the most used letter of the alep bet. It is first found as the root of יהי yehi meaning let. Yod י allows everything to come into being.
